Questions and Marks  – 75 Questions / 300 Marks

Exam Duration – 3 hours ( 180 minutes)

  • Mathematics –  100 Marks
    • 20 Multiple choice questions ( Section A)
    • 10 Numerical questions, out of which you must answer only 5 ( Section B)
    • So, you will be answering overall 25 Questions in Mathematics
  • Physics –  100 Marks
    • 20 Multiple choice questions ( Section A)
    • 10 Numerical questions, out of which you must answer only 5 ( Section B)
    • So, you will be answering overall 25 Questions in Mathematics
  • Chemistry – 100 Marks
    • 20 Multiple choice questions ( Section A)
    • 10 Numerical questions, out of which you must answer only 5 ( Section B)
    • So, you will be answering overall 25 Questions in Mathematics

For Numerical Value based questions , you have to enter the correct numerical value in integer/ decimal notation. If the answer contains more than 3 digits in the decimal notation like  5.2369, then you need to round off to 3 decimals   like  5.237.   You should not exceed 3 decimal digits.

Negative Marks:

  1. Each subject has 20 Multiple choice questions (Section A). For a correct answer you get 4 marks.
  2. For an incorrect answer, you will get one negative mark
  3. Each subject has 10 Numerical questions (Section B), out of which you have to answer only 5
  4. These numerical questions have no negative marking

Example of negative marking:

Assume, you have answered in Mathematics all 20 Multiple choice questions (MCQ)  and 5 Numerical questions.

Let’s take only 18 MCQ questions are correct and 3 numerical questions are correct.

So, for correct answers you get marks – 18*4 + 3*4 = 84

But you answered 2 MCQs wrong –  Negative marks = 2*1 = 2
There are no negative marks for Numerical questions.

So, your overall marks in Mathematics =  84-2 = 82

The same way for Physics and Chemistry marks.

Summary

If you are not sure of correct answer for a MCQ question,  do not select any answer.

Even if you have selected an answer, do a final check , and clear the answer option before you submit the exam.
